About Me
I began my career in the software and web industry working as a web designer and project manager in Vancouver BC during the DOT Com Boom of 1997-2001. I initially included information architecture as part of the planning phase of every project. Eventually, I focused on user centered design and became an industry specialist in designing websites for accessibility and enhanced user experience.
Over the last twelve years I have shared and collaborated on many ideas that have shaped a number of large brand experiences, such as Hewlett Packard, SC Johnson & Son, Citi Bank, Molson Coors, Motorola, and countless more. I have also provided a number of specialized processes and strategies used in designing applications for industries such as healthcare, banking, and packaged goods.
As a specialist in user – technology interactions, it is my job to understand the user’s requirements and map them to dimensions of the application. Today, the user experience cannot be boxed into one website. It is likely that design challenges will be carried across multiple platforms and devices to form a unified experience. Therefore, I provide agile interactive solutions on platforms such website applications, mobile devices, game consoles, kiosks and IVR systems.
I continue to collaborate with industry specialists to solve design problems on a new generation of business applications. As we continue to evolve and understand the complexities of how people use new technology, it becomes increasingly important for us as designers, to adjust and expand our views on what we consider conventional.
